The group consisted of two Technical Officers and two Senior Feeders. Petuna are the largest producer of ocean trout in Australia, with the company also reknowned for their wild fish activities.
Accompanied by Petuna's Technical Account Manager, Matthew Bransden, the group toured Tassal's marine operations at both Dover and Tasman. The tour included visit to the centralised feeding systems at these sites, as well as viewing a freshwater bathe of the Atlantic salmon required to help combat amoebic gill disease (AGD), a condition not found in Macquarie Harbour due to the estuarine environment.
Skretting Australia technical staff presented a series of talks on Skretting, Feed Formulation, Quality Assurance, Feed Management, and Australian aquaculture trends, as well as providing a tour of the mill.
