For many years Skretting's salmon diets have been formulated to specific protein: energy ratios, dependent on fish size. Similarly, most marine species have a reduced requirement for protein and an increased requirement for energy as they increase in size.
However, until now, the protein:energy ratio of our barramundi and yellowtail kingfish diets have not altered once fish consume pellets larger than 4mm.
Nova HE is formulated to match the protein and energy requirement of barramundi larger than 2 kg and is designed to reduce the feed conversion ratio (FCR) during the final growth phase. Tank trials have been completed at WA Fisheries showing significant improvement in FCR for fish fed the high energy diet compared to fish fed standard barramundi formulations. Commercial trials are now underway.
Nova HE is an important addition to our marine feed range which should give farmers a distinct performance advantage when growing out large marine species.
